Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators are required to design effective suitable duties plans for injured employees. This course provides you with the knowledge and skills of common workplace injuries and reasons for injury exacerbation. Included is how to read and understand medical certificates, utilise relevant documentation and examine job tasks in preparation to designing a safe and successful suitable duties plan.

What you will Learn
Part of the Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator role is to design suitable duties plans to ensure a safe and successful graduated return to work for the injured employee.
This course offers an introduction to ergonomics and human factors. Specifically, the course participant will form an understanding of why and how workplace injuries occur, and what can cause injury exacerbations whilst a worker is recovering from an injury. The training teaches RRTWC’s how to read and understand medical certificates, how to examine job tasks and contribute to job dictionaries, and finally how to identify appropriate activities and write a safe and successful suitable duties plan.Participants will be challenged to apply the principles covered in practical activities covering a range of job roles and job demands.

This course is suited to those working in a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator role or those working in a Supervisory role of injured workers and wishing to understand how they can participate in effective return to work practices resulting in better outcomes for the business and the injured worker.
